Our History
Tetsuhito Mitsuyasu trained under experienced ocularists at Atsuzawa Prosthesis(Tokyo) which is the oldest ocular prosthesis lab in Japan where founded by a person who first succeeded to create all-Japan made glass eye in 1930.
Tetsuhito Mitsuyasu then opened Atsuzawa Prosthesis Kyushu near Hakata Station in Fukuoka city about 30years ago. Ever since, he has been working for patients all over Kyushu by providing ocular prosthesis created based on Japanese traditional fitting theory along with his own unique techniques.
His daughter, Saori Mitsuyasu joined company since 2011 and trained under her father’s supervision. She gained her B.A. from Iowa State University as Biological/pre-Medical Illustration major in 2008. After she worked as certificated medical represented in medical device maker in Tokyo, she joined her father’s lab. She has been trying to provide information from overseas to patients in Japan by joining two associations; British association of Skin Camouflage and American Society of Ocularists.
